Our Programs


VPMA Foundation programs are designed to utilize peer outreach to increase student awareness about issues that impact our youth and their families by utilizing media arts. VPMA Foundation’s goal is to educate and impact students to influence responsible behavior and ultimately encourage those students to bring about change in their respective hometowns. The organization’s programs targets youth & families through various outreach activities, workshops, and events which include:

  • Workshops on test taking – i.e. SAT/ACT preparation classes ​

  • ​College survival workshops – i.e. Managing the transition from high school to college; Managing finances ​​

  • Visits from Admissions counselors and Financial Aid advisors who will speak on the admissions and aid process

  • ​Researching various colleges and universities

  • ​Resume development and submission to colleges and universities

  • ​Campus visits

  • Interviewing Skills

  • Time Management Skills

  • Stress Management

  • Conflict Resolution

  • Effective Communication Skills

  • Working in Teams

  • Public Speaking

  • Personal Finance

  • Entrepreneurship Intro:  Writing and delivering an effective business plan to sell a product or service

  • Participation in cultural events and community service projects

  • Personality Types Analysis

  • Embracing Diversity

  • Entrepreneurship Introduction

  • Introduction to Project Management

 

In addition, students will embark on various on-site field trips, have the opportunity to meet and engage with a wide variety of professionals, and obtain hands on skills in a variety of areas with on-site tutors, counselors, and volunteer mentors.
